Lee Wok Trinh was born on March 9, 1985, in the outskirt suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States.

 

Born to Chinese parents who moved to the US in the early ’80s from Vietnam, Lee grew up surrounded by many languages and dialects (Cantonese, Teochew, Mandarin, Vietnamese) but he mainly spoke English to his family and relatives.

 

Lee was immersed in various types of performing arts from an early age:

  • Traditional Shaolin-style Kung Fu from age six
     

  • Martial Arts Choreography from age ten
     

  • Breakdance, capoeira, and street dance from age twelve
     

  • Stage acting from age thirteen
     

  • Digital Music Production from age fifteen
     

  • Japanese Soran Bushi dance from age twenty
     

  • DJing from age twenty-seven
     

  • Improv Comedy from age twenty-nine


From martial art tournaments to breakdance battles and performances, to one-act plays and student films in university, Lee ultimately pursued a corporate career in Tokyo conducting business development in the IT security sector for ten years. 

 

After finding success in the corporate world, Lee moved to Singapore in 2018 and decided to shift his entire career focus from life as a salaryman to a full-time film actor.

 

Since then, Lee has become fully invested in developing his acting skills: 

  • Joined Faces Talent Management under their Artiste Division in 2019
     

  • Completed the Lee Strasberg Method Acting courses at Method Acting at Haque Centre of Acting & Creativity (HCAC) trained by Kamil Haque
     

  • Participated in a 6-week program in TV acting with Zoom! Academy trained by Ckay Lim.  
     

  • Collaborating in film-making with CFMG, a local start-up independent film group based in Singapore.

 

Currently, Lee has worked on over 30 different Singaporean productions.

He has been cast as a supporting role in Soul Foods (2019) produced by Viddsee, a supporting feature on Last Madame (2019) produced by Ochre Pictures, as well as supporting and lead roles in short films, TV commercials, and web advertisements. Some brands that Lee has worked with include Phillips Electronics, McDonald’s, and HoleyMoley Golf Club.  

 

Lee’s passion and dedication to the craft of acting will continue fuelling him to take on more projects. He is determined to hone his skills and will continue to grow as an actor and as a person.
